Acting county attorney becomes Prince William’s County Attorney

Michelle R. Robl of Bristow, who has worked in the county attorney’s office for 22 years is the new County Attorney for Prince William. The Board of County Supervisors appointed her Dec. 1.

The Board made the announcement following a nationwide search and thorough vetting process that concluded during a special meeting with interviews of the top candidates.

“I have had the pleasure of working in the Prince William County Attorney’s Office for more than 22 years, and I am honored to serve Prince William County and the Board of County Supervisors as the new County Attorney,” Robl stated.

Robl began her career in Prince William County in 1993 when she was hired as an Assistant County Attorney. She was promoted to Senior Assistant County Attorney in 2005, and named Deputy County Attorney in 2009. Most recently, Robl has been serving as Acting County Attorney for the past six months.

“Ms. Robl has a sharp legal mind, and has served this Board and this Community well throughout her distinguished career,” said Corey Stewart, Prince William Board of County Supervisors Chairman. “We wanted to make certain we hired a County Attorney with exceptional legal knowledge and acumen, and Ms. Robl demonstrated clearly to be the best candidate for the position.”

Robl resides in Bristow.  She received her B.A. in Political Science from Virginia Tech University and her Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law. She was admitted to the Virginia Bar on September 30, 1991. She is admitted to practice before the Virginia Supreme Court, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Eastern District of Virginia, and the Eastern District Bankruptcy Court.
