Haymarket man, 82, charged with reckless handling of a firearm

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On Moday, Oct. 19 at 1:03PM, Prince William County police officers responded to a residence located in the 5300 block of Antioch Ridge Dr in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a destruction of property. The investigation revealed that the accused was working on his firearm when the weapon discharged and fired multiple rounds.

The discharged rounds struck an exterior air conditioning unit and a neighbor’s residence, with two rounds entering the home. The neighbor contacted police when the rounds were heard striking the residence. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Wayne Oree WILLSON, was charged.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm | Brandishing – On October 19 at 7:50PM, officers responded to the 13400 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a man armed with a weapon. When officers arrived, they made contact with the caller who reported that an acquaintance, identified as the accused, fired multiple rounds from a handgun behind a business in the above area. The accused then entered the B Thrifty nearby and allegedly waived the gun in the air before pointing the weapon at multiple patrons. No witnesses were identified, and no injuries were reported.

Officers located the accused and a handgun nearby where the initial shooting occurred. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Maurice Lamont GORDON, was arrested.
