Homeowner and neighbors hear gunshots in Dumfries neighborhood

MPO Renee Carr, public information officer for the Prince William County Police Department, issued the reports below on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 on recent incidents investigated by county police:

Incidents

Shooting into a Residential Dwelling –  Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 17400 block of Denali Pl. in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a destruction of property on July 21 at 12:51PM.

The homeowner reported to police that around 3:00AM on Monday, July 20, she was asleep when she awakened to the sound of gunshots.

The following morning, on July 21, the homeowner observed bullet holes in her front window and reported them to the police. The investigation revealed that rounds entered the home through the front window, with one round traveling through a dining room wall. Officers located bullet fragments in the living room and kitchen. No injuries or additional property damage were reported.

Neighborhood residents also reported hearing gunshots in the area during the time frame the homeowner heard the shots.

Abduction | Assault and Battery – On Tuesday, July 21 at 7:53PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 4700 block of Kilbane Rd. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a domestic.

The victim, a female, 65, reported to police that she and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused followed the victim to her vehicle where he grabbed her arm and prevented her from getting out of the vehicle. Eventually the parties separated, and the accused fled the home prior to police arriving at the location. The victim reported minor injuries.

Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Paul Gordon PARKER. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

Described as a black male, 5’4”, 135lbs., with brown hair and eyes
Wanted for abduction and assault & battery

Arrests
Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] –
On July 21 at 11:45PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Bayvue Apartments located in the 14100 block of Fisher Ave. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic.

Responding officers observed a physical altercation and immediately intervened to separate the parties. Officers determined that one of the men, later identified as the accused, was intoxicated and involved in the domestic incident. As officers attempted to detain him, he actively resisted and refused to follow officer’s commands. After a brief struggle, the accused was taken into custody. During the encounter, the accused kicked an officer. No injuries were reported by the officer.

The investigation revealed that the accused and a family member, identified as a 50-year-old female victim, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated when the accused pushed the victim. Another family member intervened and was struck and bitten by the accused before being separated. Both victims reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Roberto Carlos TRUJILLO-RIVERA, was arrested.
