HIRE VETS NOW hiring and networking event March 22 at Fort Belvoir

Transitioning service members and veterans can connect with many of Virginia’s top civilian employers in high growth industries such as medical, IT and cyber security at the HIRE VETS NOW Hiring and Networking Event, Thursday, March 22, at Fort Belvoir.

The reception will take place at the Fort Belvoir Community Center, 10300 Taylor Road, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and includes a free “Grab and Go” lunch.  Those wishing to attend this event should register online now at http://www.vachamber.com/hirevetsmarch22 Walk-.ins are

“This reception will give transitioning military and veterans the chance to meet and talk with representatives of a host of employers in a casual atmosphere,” said Alison Foster, program manager, for the Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS) Virginia Transition Assistant Program (VTAP). “DVS and the Virginia Chamber are excited to partner with the Fort Belvoir Soldier For Life – Transition Assistance Program to connect our highly-skilled military talent to the best civilian careers in Virginia.”

Participating employers will include Altria, Arlington County Police Dept., Averitt Express, BAE, CACI, Croppmetcalfe, Dominion Energy, DXC Technology, FDM Group, HCA Capital Division plus ICF, Inova Health System, Intellidyne, Inter-Con Security Systems, Leidos, and Marsh & McLennan. Also participating will be Micron Technology, Nestle, NETE, Prism, Raytheon, SAIC, Serco and Vencore.

In addition to DVS and the Soldier For Life-Transition Assistance Program, additional event hosts are the Virginia Chamber Foundation, the USO Pathfinder Program and the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) Veterans Employment Initiative.
