**UPDATES**
Residential Burglary *ARRESTS – On February 6, detectives with the Property Crimes Unit identified two of the suspects involved in a burglary to a residence located in the 1700 block of Potomac View Ave in Woodbridge on February 3. Further investigation determined that a family member of the victim, identified as a 17-year-old female juvenile, conspired with an acquaintance, identified as Melvin Higinio ALVARENGA-RODRIGUEZ, to steal the items reported missing. Following the investigation, detectives with the Property Crimes Unit arrested the suspects without incident. None of the firearms stolen have been recovered. The investigation continues.

Residential Burglary [Previously Released] – On February 3 at 5:00PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1700 block of Potomac View Ave in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. A resident of the home reported to police that the burglary occurred between 2:30PM and 10:30PM on February 2. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the residence through a window. Jewelry and a safe containing five handguns and a rifle were reported missing.
Abduction | Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related *ARREST – On February 7, police received a tip regarding the possible whereabouts of a wanted suspect, Marcus Allen MAYS. Using the information provided, a Prince William County detective assigned to the US Marshals Task Force contacted the Chase County Sheriff’s Office in Imperial, Nebraska. The accused, who was wanted for two domestic related incidents that occurred in the 2900 block of Wetherburn Ct in Woodbridge, was subsequently taken into custody by deputy sheriffs. The accused remains incarcerated in Nebraska pending extradition back to Virginia.

Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related [Previously Released] – On January 21 at 4:43AM, officers responded to the 2900 block of Wetherburn Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a possible domestic. A caller reported to police that an unknown male and female were arguing in the above area. When officers arrived, they located the parties who immediately fled the area of foot. Officers eventually located the victim, identified as 31-year-old woman, with minor injuries to the upper body. The investigation revealed that the victim and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal argument which escalated. During the encounter, the victim was assaulted. Further investigation revealed that the accused was already wanted for several charges from a prior domestic with the same victim on July 17, 2017. Officers searched the area for the accused who was not located. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. Further attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful. The investigation continues.
Abduction | Domestic Related [Previously Released] – On July 17 at 12:37AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 2900 block of Wetherburn Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed that the accused was involved in a verbal argument with an acquaintance, identified as a 31-year-old woman of Woodbridge, which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and prevented her from leaving the residence. When the victim locked herself in the bathroom and contacted police, the accused kicked open the door and put the victim in a headlock. A struggle ensued and the victim was eventually able to break free. When officer arrived, the accused fled the area on foot. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused, identified as Marcus Allen MAYS. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.
**ARRESTS**
Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On February 6 at 12:30PM, officers responded to a townhome located in the 8800 block of Moat Crossing Pl in Bristow (20136) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed that the accused was cleaning his handgun when he allegedly inadvertently discharged a round that traveled through the wall and passed through two unoccupied bedrooms of the neighboring townhome before landing on the floor. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
