Manassas woman, 30, reports being choked; three officers struck while trying to pick up suspects

**ARRESTS**

Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On January 1 at 5:40AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 7600 block of Shelly Ln in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 31-year-old woman, reported to police that she and accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal confrontation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused pushed the victim onto a couch then grabbed her throat and choked her. The parties eventually separated and police were contacted. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Jose Angel QUINTEROS ACOSTA, was arrested.

Assault & Battery on Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) – On January 2 at 10:16AM, officers responded to the area of Gideon Dr and Lowell Way in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a disorderly person. When officers arrived and made contact with the suspect, he continued to be disorderly. When officers attempted to detain the accused, he punched an officer in the chest and stomach. The accused was eventually subdued and detained. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Zhang LU, was arrested.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On January 1 at 9:31AM, officers responded to the 14800 block of Ashdale Ave in Woodbridge (22193) to serve an Emergency Custody Order for the accused. When officers arrived and made contact with the accused, he resisted as officers attempted to take him into custody and a struggle ensued. During the struggle, the accused struck an officer in the upper body and attempted to grab a second officer. The accused was eventually subdued and detained. The officers were not injured. Minor injuries were reported to the accused. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Anthony Andrew JOHNSON, was arrested.
