Impaired Halloween revelers can get a free taxi ride home tonight Oct. 29-30

If you are going to be Halloween partying tonight Oct. 29, into tomorrow morning, Oct. 30, and drinking alcohol, you can get a free taxi ride home up to $30 worth in Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park as well as other parts of Northern Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Those requesting rides must be 21 and rides cannot be arranged in advance.

The number to call to request the SoberRide is 800-200-8294 (TAXI). If you call a taxi company directly or use some other number, the deal is off.

AT&T customers may text #WRAP from their wireless phones to secure a ride from a participating taxi company in the SoberRide pick-up areas

The rides are part of the non-profit Washington Regional Alcohol Program’s (WRAP) SoberRide program, “said to be one of the nation’s most successful free cab ride programs for would-be impaired drivers,” according to a press release.

Since 1993, WRAP has dispatched over 65,219 safe rides home, the press release said. Currently, SoberRide operates during the December/January holiday season, St. Patrick’s Day, Cinco de Mayo, Independence Day and Halloween.
