Prince William County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of a fire that routed 13 people from their homes in the 15700 block of Lansdale Place in Montclair on Monday, May 30th around 6:27 a.m.
Personnel in the responding fire and rescue units observed fire burning in the rear of three townhomes. Firefighters commenced fire suppression and extinguished the fire.
One firefighter sustained a minor foot injury and was treated and released. There were no injuries to residents, according to the report issued Tuesday by the Department of Fire & Rescue.
According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, a total of six townhomes sustained damage; two townhomes were a total loss, one with significant damage and 3 additional townhomes with minor damage to the vinyl siding; preliminary damages are estimated at $500,000.
Red Cross was called to the scene to assist eight adults and five children displaced by the fire.
The cause of the fire is undetermined and currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
