The Community Foundation of Northern Virginia has awarded $23,000 to the School Division through SPARK, the School Division’s education foundation.
The grant will support a program to teach 150-200 students across the county how their local, state, and federal governments work, give them an understanding of how to change public policy, and provide hands-on experience researching and debating current issues in the community.
The program will be administered through Jeff Girvan, supervisor of History and Social Science in the Office of Student Learning.
