Rain pelts area

Thunderstorms—some isolated, some severe—hit western Prince William County the evening of Aug. 1 to provide some much-needed relief from the high temperatures and nonstop sunny days that have resulted in high heat indices.
Thunderstorms are possible for the next few evenings. A heavier, more consistent rain is falling the morning of Aug. 3.
