Va. Congressman Connolly launches “thank a Fed” initiative

To commemorate Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW) 2015, Congressman Gerry Connolly has launched the “Thank a Fed” initiative to highlight the important work of America’s federal employees and examine promising best practices in government management.

Connolly (D-VA) is inviting all Americans to share stories of how a Federal employee effectively and efficiently served them – from the hard working Social Security Administration employee, who worked tirelessly to process benefits for a loved one, to an example of a specific office within a Federal agency that achieved impressive operational efficiency in providing excellent customer service and successfully delivering citizen services.

Connolly, who is co-chair of the bipartisan Congressional Public Service Caucus and a member of the House Federal Workforce Subcommittee, reached out by email to more than 100,000 constituents in Virginia’s 11th Congressional District about the initiative and encouraged them to participate.

As Ranking Member of the House Government Operations Subcommittee, Congressman Connolly is particularly interested in highlighting specific good government policies and practices that have proven effective over the years, and which could be enhanced, scaled, or replicated to strengthen management across the Federal Government.

Connolly said people who want to thank a Federal employee and share a personal story of good government may submit their experiences to the following email address: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
