Steven Holmquist, 55, dies in Arizona; sr. executive, pilot, athlete, father

Steven Holmquist, 55, of Carefree, AZ passed away on November 28, 2016.  Steve was born at the U.S. Air Force base hospital in Bitburg, Germany and lived in various places across the country until becoming a proud Arizonan in 1994.

He was a driven and successful man who never met a challenge he could not overcome or a goal he could not achieve.  Steve had more accomplishments than can be listed, including being a senior executive of publicly traded companies, pilot, scuba instructor, professional cyclist, and won championships in taekwondo, golf, judo, and wrestling.

Steve was also a beloved and devoted husband, father, brother, son, and friend.  He is survived by his wife Kara Marx, son Stephan Holmquist, daughter-in-law Chelsea Holmquist, father Richard Holmquist, sisters Judith Dunaway and Patricia Call, brothers-in-law Thomas Dunaway and Charlie Call, and countless friends and colleagues who have all been blessed by knowing him.

In lieu of flowers and remembrance of Steve’s wishes, vote Republican.  If your preference is to donate, please donate in his name to a poodle rescue of your choice.

Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary, 8555 E. Pinnacle Peak Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85255 had charge of arrangements.
