SAR burial ritual performed for compatriot CDR Robert W. Covey

CDR Robert W. Covey of Montclair was laid to rest among other American Veterans and heroes at Arlington National Cemetery on May 5, 2017.

CDR Covey was a retired Naval aviator who flew combat missions during the Vietnam War, earning multiple prestigious medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Following the performance of full military honors, members of the Sons of the American Revolution performed the SAR Burial Ritual led by the Colonel William Grayson Chapter from Manassas, VA.  President Mike Taimi led the ceremony.

Assisting the Colonel Grayson Chapter in the ceremony were members of the Culpeper Minutemen Chapter and George Mason Chapter of Virginia SAR. A total of nine SAR members attended the ceremony.
