Sandra Heefner of Powhatan, member of Lake Ridge Baptist Church

Sandra Lea Nelson Heefner, of Powhatan, VA,  a strong Christian woman who was a member of the Lake Ridge Baptist Church in Woodbridge, VA for more than 30 years, died Dec. 18, 2021.

She loved to sing in church and was passionate about teaching young children.

She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Scott Norman Heefner; daughters, Kathleen Brighton Heefner and Whitney Glynn Heefner Dalton, and her husband, Gregory; and her son, Daniel Scott Heefner. She is also survived by a grandson, Raymond Snow Dalton, and a granddaughter, June Lea Dalton; her mother, Helen Doris Nelson; her sister, Beverly Nelson McCallum; brothers-in-law, Richard Marion McCallum and Timothy Thoms; and her mother-in-law, Beatrice Beverley Heefner. She is also survived by numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Heefner was preceded in death by her father, Sherwin Fushia Nelson, and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Ann “Betsy” Thoms.

A service will be held at Lake Ridge Baptist Church in Woodbridge Va at a later date.
