Craig’s List phone sale goes sour when purchaser grabs phone, throws fake money at seller


Strong-Armed Robbery – On December 26 at 4:35PM, officers responded to the area of Rock Bridge Ct and Potomac Town Pl in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 36-year-old man, reported to police that he arranged to sell a cell phone through Craigslist to an unknown male. During the encounter, the male forcibly grabbed the cell phone from the victim then threw fake money at him before driving away in a vehicle. No injuries were reported. The investigation continues.

Abduction | Malicious Wounding – On December 27 at 1:24AM, officers responded to investigate an assault that occurred in the Triangle area of Prince William County (22172) earlier that morning. The victim, a 27-year-old woman, reported to police that she was a passenger inside of a vehicle being driven by the accused, an acquaintance, in the area of Joplin Rd and Jefferson Davis Hwy when they were involved in a verbal altercation, which escalated. As the accused was driving, he punched the victim in the face several times causing serious injuries before eventually pulling over and fleeing the area on foot. The victim drove herself to a local hospital for treatment where the police were contacted. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Jevante Malcom GARNER. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful. The investigation continues.

There will be a special election, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, for the Prince William Board of County Supervisors Neabsco District seat.
