US Task Force arrests man in Florida who’d been wanted by PWC Police for over a year

Strangulation | Abduction | Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related *ARREST – On December 20, members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force arrested the accused, identified as Pedro BURGOS MEJIA. The accused was wanted in connection to a domestic related assault and abduction that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 13600 block of Greenwood Dr in Woodbridge in November of 2017. The accused was located in Tampa, Florida where he will remain incarcerated until extradited back to Virginia.

Strangulation | Abduction | Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related [Previously Released] – On November 19 [2017] at 7:50PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 13600 block of Greenwood Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a domestic.  The investigation revealed that the victim, a 24-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was leaving her residence when she was tackled from behind by the accused, an acquaintance. During the encounter, the accused placed a knife against the victim’s throat. An adult female friend of the victim attempted to intervene and a struggle ensued with the accused. The friend was able to take the knife away from the accused and place it inside of the residence as the victim continued to struggle with the accused. At some point during the struggle, the accused placed both of his hands around the victim’s neck. The victim was eventually able to break free from the accused and contact police. The accused fled the area in a 2014 Toyota Scion TC prior to officers arriving, which officers later determined was taken from the owner without permission. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused, identified as Pedro BURGOS MEJIA. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful. The investigation continues.
