Driver from Dumfries succumbs to injuries from June 18 auto crash on US 1 in Woodbridge

Fatal Crash Investigation – On June 18 at 1:30PM, officers responded to the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and Vantage Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a crash.

The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2000 Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound on Jefferson Davis Hwy and attempted to make a left turn onto Vantage Dr. The vehicle crossed in front of the driver of a 2014 Honda Ridgeline traveling northbound on Jefferson Davis Hwy causing a collision.

The crash forced the vehicles into a third vehicle, a 2005 Acura TL, which was stopped on Vantage Dr where the driver was attempting a right turn onto northbound Jefferson Davis Hwy. This intersection is not controlled by a traffic signal.

The driver of the Toyota Corolla was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries sustained in the crash on July 6. No other injuries were reported. The investigation continues.
