PW Police arrest two suspected in May 2016 homicide; third suspect still sought

Murder Investigation *ARREST – On December 12, detectives from the Prince William County Police Department’s Homicide Unit received information which ultimately led to the identification of three suspects involved in the murder of Jason Thomas Mannion (correctly Jason not John as previously stated) which occurred at a residence in the 9500 block of Hensley Rd in Manassas on May 12, according to a news release from Sgt. Jonathan Perok, police department spokesman.

The preliminary investigation into the incident alleged that two of the suspects, identified as Marquan Antonio BROWN and Jhaire Nathaniel MONTGOMERY, attempted to rob the victim inside the home, according to the police report. During the encounter, the victim was shot and later died, Perok said.

A third suspect, identified as Rhebekah Alexis PATTERSON, was also determined to have participated in the incident, the police department spokesman said. All parties were known to one another. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants for the arrest of these suspects, he added.

The BROWN suspect is currently incarcerated in Culpeper County on unrelated charges. The MONTGOMERY suspect was located and arrested in Culpeper County on December 15 without incident. The remaining suspect, PATTERSON, has not been apprehended and is currently being sought by police, Perok stated.

Arrested/Charged on December 15:

• Marquan Antonio BROWN, 25, of no fixed address

• Jhaire Nathaniel MONTGOMERY, 19, of 22098 Highland Rd in Culpeper

Both suspects were charged with murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony

• Rhebekah Alexis PATTERSON, 29, of 15467 Retriever Rd in Culpeper

Described as a white female, 5’6”, 160lbs with brown hair and brown eyes

Wanted for principal in the second degree to murder

Homicide Investigation [Previously Released] – On May 12 at 2:45AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 9500 block of Hensley Rd in Manassas (20112) to investigate a shooting. Officers arrived at the home and located an adult male victim inside suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Other occupants were in the home at the time of incident and were unharmed. The preliminary investigation revealed that possibly two suspects entered the home and shot the victim before fleeing. A police K-9 responded to the scene to search for the suspects who were not located. On May 13, the victim involved in the shooting died at an area hospital as a result of his injuries. Detectives from the Homicide Unit are continuing to investigate this case.

PWC Police Department has corrected the victim’s name to Jason Thomas MANNION. Previously the victim was identified as John Thomas MANNION.
