Felony child neglect charged after three children ages 8, 5, 2 found unsupervised

Aggravated Malicious Wounding | Shooting Investigation *ARREST – On September 1, detectives arrested the suspect involved in the shooting which occurred in the 14700 block of Birchdale Ave in Woodbridge on August 30. Detectives from the Violent Crimes Bureau quickly identified the suspect as Aubrey Lindo MCKAY III shortly after the shooting and obtained warrants for his arrest. After an extensive search, members of the U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force located the suspect at a home in Winchester where he was arrested without incident. The suspect remains in custody in Winchester.

Aggravated Malicious Wounding | Shooting Investigation [Previously Released] – On August 30 at 7:07PM, officers responded to the 14700 block of Birchdale Ave in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 17-year-old male juvenile of Woodbridge, was shot in the lower body by an acquaintance near the basketball courts in the above area. The encounter appears to have stemmed from an ongoing dispute. After the shooting, the suspect fled the area. Responding officers provided immediate first-aid to the victim before rescue crews arrived on scene. The victim was flown to an area hospital and is expected survive. This incident was not random. The investigation continues.

**ARRESTS**

Felony Child Neglect – On September 1 at 8:17PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 16600 block of Galt Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a child neglect call. Officers received information that three young children were possibly left unattended inside the home. When officers arrived, they made contact with three children, ages 8, 5 and 2, who were not under adult supervision. Officers eventually made contact with the mother of the children who responded back to the residence. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Kiana Shanae WRIGHT, was arrested. The children were not injured and released to the custody of family.
