Fatal crash involving dump truck and sedan at US 29 and Lake Manassas Drive

Fatal Crash Investigation – On June 1 at 3:46PM, investigators from the Prince William County Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Lee Hwy (US 29) and Lake Manassas Dr to investigate a two-vehicle crash between a dump truck and a sedan.

When officers arrived, the sedan was found fully engulfed in flames.  The driver of the sedan was located inside the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the dump truck reported minor injuries. Further information on the crash will be released when available.

The identity of the deceased driver will also be released once a next of kin is notified. 

Southbound Lee Hwy toward Warrenton and Lake Manassas Dr are expected to be closed for an extended period of time. Northbound Lee Hwy toward Manassas is expected to reopen as soon as the roadway is cleared. Please avoid the area and use alternate routes. The investigation continues.
