Lane closures will occur between 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 1 and 5 a.m. Thursday, June 2 on eastbound I-66 near mile marker 42, between US 15 and US 29 to install a dynamic message sign associated with the I-66 widening project, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Single-lane closures will begin at approximately 8 p.m. on Wednesday night.
Intermittent total closures of up to 20 minutes will begin at approximately midnight.
One travel lane will be reopened after each total closure to allow traffic queues to clear.
The work is part of the widening project adding one regular and one HOV lane in each direction from US 29 in Gainesville to US 15 in Haymarket.
The $65 million project is scheduled for completion in August.
