Nighttime lane closures on US 1 begin Wednesday, May 3 at 10 p.m.
Drivers through Woodbridge VA can expect delays due to nighttime lane closures on Route 1 between Marys Way and Occoquan Road from Wednesday, May 4 through Friday, May 13.
Crews will remove the existing median and replace it with temporary asphalt, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Overnight lane closure hours:
Mondays – Thursdays: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Fridays: 10 p.m. to 9 a.m.
There will be no overnight closures on Saturday, May 7 or Sunday, May 8.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
Drivers should expect similar closures throughout the length of construction.
The work is part of the project to widen Route 1 from four to six lanes between Marys Way and Annapolis Way. The widening is expected to be complete in the fall of 2019.
