PWC Police investigate fatal crash on Spriggs Road this morning - March 28, 2016

**INCIDENTS**

Fatal Crash Investigation – On March 28 at 10:53AM, investigators from the Prince William County VA Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 14200 block of Spriggs Rd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a two vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling southbound on Spriggs Rd in the above area when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle sideswiped the driver of a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado who was also traveling in a southbound lane. The Tahoe then veered off the road and struck a tree. The driver of the Tahoe was transported to an area hospital where he died a short time later. The other driver was not injured. It is unknown at this time if speed, alcohol, or drugs were a factor. The investigation continues.
Identified:
The operator of the 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe was identified as Charles Anthony NORTON, 69, of Dumfries
 
The driver of the 2006 Chevrolet Silverado was identified as a 45 year old man of Woodbridge

Armed Robbery – On March 26 at 7:24AM, officers responded to the 3300 block of Post Office Rd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 58 year old man of Henrico, reported to police that he picked up two unknown men in his cab then drove to the above area. At some point, one of the men brandished a handgun and demanded money. The suspects attempted to flee with an undisclosed amount of money but were confronted by the victim. During the encounter, one of the men punched the victim in the face. The men then fled the area on foot and police were contacted. Minor injuries were reported.  A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects who were not located. The investigation continues.

Black male, between 19 & 21 years of age, 5’9”, 160lbs with black hair and brown eyes
Last seen wearing a neon yellow hoodie and red or black pants

Black male, between 15 & 17 years of age, 5’6”, 160lbs with black hair and brown eyes
Last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants

Malicious Wounding | Attempted Armed Robbery – On March 26 at 8:51PM, officers responded to investigate an attempted robbery which occurred in the 13800 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) earlier that evening. The victim, a 36 year old man of Washington D.C., reported to police that he was in the above area when he was approached by two unknown men. During the encounter, one of the men displayed a knife then punched the victim in the head and stabbed him in the leg before fleeing the area. No property was taken. The victim later responded to a local hospital with minor injuries and police were contacted. Officers checked the area and did not locate the suspects.
Suspect Descriptions:
2 black males, unknown ages, 5’07’’, 170lbs – No further description provided
Both suspects were last seen wearing a black jacket with a hood, blue jeans, and black boots

Attempted Residential Burglary – On March 27 at 4:26AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 10900 block of Hiram Ct in Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that she heard a noise outside a rear door. When the homeowner looked out the window, an unknown man was seen attempting to open the door.  The man fled on foot when he saw the homeowner. No entry was made and no property was reported missing. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects who were not located. The investigation continues.

                Black male, between 20 & 30 years of age, 5’9” – No further description provided

**ARRESTS**

Abduction | Domestic Assault & Battery – On March 27 at 1:21PM, officers responded to the Homewood Suites Hotel located at 2650 Neabsco Common Pl in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 37 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal alteration which escalated. During the encounter, the accused held the victim down and struck her in the face. When the victim attempted to leave, the accused stood in front of a doorway preventing her from leaving. At some point, the accused took the victim’s cell phone when she attempted to contact police. A concerned neighbor made contact with officers who were already at the hotel for an unrelated service request. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

Tommy Joseph LINKOUS, 34, of 2650 Neabsco Common Pl in Woodbridge
Charged with abduction, domestic assault & battery and preventing the summoning of law enforcement
Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On March 27 at 9:00PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1500 block of Kentucky Ave in Woodbridge (22172) to investigate a domestic. Once at the residence, officers made contact with the accused. During the encounter, the accused spat in the officer’s face before being quickly detained. While the accused was being processed at the Juvenile Detention Center, the accused spat on the officer’s back. The accused was quickly detained without further incident.  No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
