Haymarket motorcyclist killed in accident on Antioch Road

Fatal Crash Investigation – On March 24 at 5:29PM, investigators from the Prince William County VA Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Antioch Rd near Waterfall Rd in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a crash involving a motorcycle, according to Officer Nathan Probus, spokesman for the Prince William County Police Department.

The investigation revealed that the operator of a 1997 Harley Davidson FXDL was traveling northbound on Antioch Rd in the above area at an excessive speed when for unknown reasons the motorcycle crossed over the double yellow line and collided with the driver of a 2009 Chevrolet Express van who was traveling in the southbound lane.

The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs were a factor.

The operator of the 1997 Harley Davidson FXDL was identified as Gregory Allen WILSON, 52, of Haymarket
 
The driver of the 2009 Chevrolet Express van was identified as a 54 year old man of Warrenton.

The investigation continues, police said.
