**INCIDENTS**

Fatal Crash Investigation – On February 3 at 9:14PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Dumfries Rd and Cobb Rd in Manassas (20112) to investigate a two vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2000 Toyota Echo was attempting to cross over Dumfries Rd from eastbound Cobb Dr when the vehicle collided with the driver of a 2007 BMW X5 who was traveling in the eastbound lanes on Dumfries Rd. The driver of the Echo was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The other driver was not injured. The driver of the Echo was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. It is unknown at this time if speed, alcohol, and drugs are factors.  The investigation continues.
Identified:
The driver of the 2000 Toyota Echo was identified as Rodney James WELLS, 69, of Manassas

The driver of the 2007 BMW X5 was identified as a 20 year old man of Manassas

Abduction | Indecent Exposure – On February 3 at 6:15AM, officers responded to the 4700 block of Charter Ct in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an abduction. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 16 year old female juvenile, was walking in the above area when she was approached by an unknown man who was naked. During the encounter, the victim attempted to flee from the accused who chased after her.  A witness intervened but the accused knocked both the victim and the witness to the ground. At one point, the accused grabbed the victim preventing her from leaving and police were contacted. When officers arrived, the parties were separated without incident and the accused was detained. No injuries were reported. The accused was transported to an area facility for a mental health evaluation. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused who remains hospitalized.

**ARRESTS**

Malicious Wounding | Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On February 4 at 1:19AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 3670 block of Golf Side Cir in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 31 year old man of Woodbridge, was visiting the accused, an acquaintance. At some point, the accused retrieved a firearm and fired a round at the victim striking him in the leg causing a non-life threatening injury.  Officers arrived at the apartment and detained the accused, who was highly intoxicated, without further incident.  The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Jose Fernando TREVINO, 48, of 3670 Golf Side Cir Apt 401 in Woodbridge
Charged with malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied dwelling, and reckless handling of a firearm
Court Date: March 7, 2016 | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On February 2 at 9:30PM, a Prince William County police officer observed a suspicious person behind the Shell service station located at 8195 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109). Following the investigation, the accused was determined to be in possession of marijuana. As the accused was being placed under arrest, he resisted and struck the officer in the chest. The accused was quickly detained without further incident. Minor injuries were reported by the officer. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
Arrested on February 2:
Jose Jaime MONTE RIVAS, 28, of 5816 Post Corner Trl in Centreville
Charged with assault & battery on a LEO, resisting arrest, and possession of marijuana
Court Date: March 14, 2016| Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond
