Get help applying for college financial aid at Super Saturday event rescheduled to Feb. 6

Meet with experts who can take the mystery and confusion out of the financial aid process.

Stonewall Jackson High School and the Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (VASFAA) will host Super Saturday on Feb. 6 rescheduled from Jan. 23 from 9 a.m.–noon at Stonewall Jackson High School, located at 8820 Rixlew Lane, Manassas, VA.

Super Saturday is an annual service project which provides free one-on-one assistance in completing the federal financial aid form for postsecondary education, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The FAFSA is the form used by colleges, universities, and career-technical schools across the country to determine eligibility for student federal financial aid.

A financial aid workshop at 9:15 a.m. presented by NOVA’s director of Financial Aid will explain the federal and state financial aid process.

Students/Parents should bring the following documents to the event: FAFSA ID number, social security number, driver’s license, 2015 W-2 forms, 2015 federal income tax return (or most recent estimate), list of untaxed income, current bank and investment records, and alien registration or permanent resident card if applicable.

Students and their parents are advised to request an FAFSA ID electronically at https://fsaid.ed.gov/npas/index.htm Paren.ts should get their own FSA ID in addition to the student’s.

Super Saturday is open to the public. Assistance with the FASFA will be given to new as well as returning college students.
