Special Victims Unit detectives investigate sexual assaults, PWC Police report

Incidents and arrests released on Friday, Oct. 23, 2015

**INCIDENTS**

Strangulation | Malicious Wounding | Domestic Assault & Battery – On October 23rd at 1:00AM, officers responded to the 7500 block of Margate Ct in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic.  The victim, a 29 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused began to choke the victim while pushing her head into a couch. The victim was eventually able to get away from the accused and contacted police. While the victim was contacting police, the accused threw a cell phone striking the victim in the hand.  The accused fled the area prior to police arrival. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, warrants were obtained for the accused.
Wanted:
Gregory Herman OCONNOR, 33, of the 7500 block of Margate Ct in Manassas
Described as a black male, 5’07”, 155lbs with a thin build, light complexion, with black hair and brown eyes
Wanted for strangulation¸ malicious wounding, domestic assault & battery, and violation of a protective order

Residential Burglary – On October 22ND at 9:34AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 13400 block of Pinwheel Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:50AM and 9:25AM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made into the home through an unsecured rear door. Jewelry and a coin collection were reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Sexual Assault Investigation – On October 9th, detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 9600 block of Norfolk St in Manassas (20109). The investigation revealed that the victim, a 14 year old girl, was sexually assaulted on more than one occasion between 2005 and 2013 by the accused, a known acquaintance. The victim recently disclosed the incidents and police were notified. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

Edgardo Erasmo ALVARADO ACEVEDO, 39, of 10128 Woodbury Dr, #905 in Manassas
Charged with three counts of rape
Court Date: Pending | Status: Held WITHOUT bond

Sexual Assault Investigation – On October 2nd, detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 9600 block of Anjou Ct in Manassas (20110). The investigation revealed that the victim, a 14 year old girl, was sexually assaulted on more than one occasion between 2012 and 2013 by the accused, a known acquaintance. The victim recently disclosed the incidents and police were notified. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.
Arrested on October 22nd:
Anthony Gerrard SCHAEFER, 56, of 1103 Walker Cir SW in Vienna
Charged with 2 counts of aggravated sexual battery, 1 count of object sexual penetration, and 1 count of taking indecent liberties with a child by a custodian
Court Date: Pending | Status: Held WITHOUT bond
