Prince William County Police Beat 9/10/15 - Suspect sought in Woodbridge shooting

**INCIDENTS**

Aggravated Malicious Wounding – On September 9th at 4:12PM, officers responded to the 14300 block of Wrangler Ln in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. The caller reported to police that gunshots were heard in the above area. Officers arrived in the area and located shell casings in the roadway. While investigating this incident, a victim, identified as a 21 year old man of Woodbridge, walked into an area hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body. Through the investigation detectives were able to link the victim to the incident on Wrangler Ln. The investigation further revealed that the victim was sitting in a vehicle in the above area when another vehicle pulled alongside and an occupant opened fire. As a result, the victim was subsequently struck. During the investigation, detectives were able to identify the shooter as the accused, who is a known acquaintance to the victim. The victim was treated at an area hospital for the non-life threatening wound. This incident appeared to have stemmed from a previous incident between the two parties and was not random. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused, identified as Alexis MARTINEZ.
Wanted:
Alexis Alberto MARTINEZ, 25, of the 14300 block of Chesterfield Rd in Woodbridge
Described as a black male, 5’4”, 160lbs with a medium build, light complexion, black hair and brown eyes
Wanted for aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony

Armed Robbery  – On September 10th at 3:06AM, officers responded to the 7-11 located at 7001 Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. Store employees reported to police that two men entered the business and approached the counter armed with shotguns. Once there, the men demanded money and cigarillos. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money and $20 worth of cigarillos before fleeing the business. No injuries were reported. Attempts to locate the suspects were unsuccessful.
Suspect Descriptions:
2 black males, between 20 & 25 years of age, 5’9”-5’11”, 160lbs
Last seen wearing dark colored clothing and masks

Commercial Burglary at Centreville Road Subway  – On September 6th at 7:54AM, officers responded to the Subway located at 8017 Centreville Rd in Manassas (20111) to investigate a burglary. The business owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 11:30PM on September 5th and 7:54AM on September 6th. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the business through a front glass door which was found shattered.  A cash register was also found damaged. No property was reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Felony Child Abuse  – On September 9th at 3:00PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1700 block of Powder Horn Tr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a child assault. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 3 year old boy, was struck in the face with a belt by the accused, identified as the child’s mother. The strike caused a laceration to the victim’s cheek. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Ruby Esmeralda PERLA, 24, of the 1700 block of Powder Horn Tr in Woodbridge
Charged with felony child abuse
Court date: pending | Bond: $5,000 secured
