First day of special operation on sexual predators and human trafficking yields arrest of PWC man

“Operation Broken Heart”, a month-long, collaborative effort that involves local, state, and federal authorities targeting sexual predators and traffickers, began on April 1, 2015.  The same day, Manassas City Police arrested Donald E. Campbell, Jr. of 3979 Cameron St, Dumfries, VA 22026.

At approximately 6:30PM on April 1, 2015, Manassas City Police Investigators, in conjunction with the Northern Virginia-District of Columbia Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations, arrested a man who responded to an undercover advertisement looking for persons willing to travel to have sexual contact with juveniles. 

Investigators identified CAMPBELL, 50, as a suspect after he responded to an undercover Investigator on Craigslist Monday evening about having sexual relations with a fictitious 12-year-old male at a motel in the City of Manassas. 

The suspect was taken into custody without incident in the parking lot of Burger King (10034 Dumfries Rd), where he had arranged to meet the other party. 

CAMPBELL was charged with use of a communications device to facilitate certain offenses involving children and attempted indecent liberties with a minor.  He was held without bond and has a pending court date in Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court.
