Weekend storm deters Youngkin’s Spirit of Va. stop in Gainesville/Haymarket on Sept. 23

A scheduled Saturday September 23rd visit by Governor Youngkin to Gainesville in Prince William County on his bus ‘The Spirit of America’ has been cancelled due to the Governor’s declaration of a storm emergency. The 11 AM visit had previously been moved from Haymarket to an indoor location in Gainesville due to the anticipated storm, according to a statement from the Prince William County Republican Committee spokesman Brian Penn.

Dale City and Mullen Elementary named “Green Ribbon” Schools
The day in and day out efforts Dale City and Mullen Elementary to provide engaging environmental and sustainability education activities and learning opportunities that will have a lasting impact on these students’ lives" have prompted the2024 U.S. Department of Education to name them Green Ribbon Schools.
