Police identify suspect in December robbery of beauty supply house in Woodbridge

**UPDATES**

Armed Robbery *SUSPECT IDENTIFIED – On January 9, detectives from the Robbery Unit identified one of the suspects involved in the Dec. 23, 2017 robbery of the Sally Beauty Supply located at 13920 Shoppers Best Way in Woodbridge. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants for the arrest of this suspect, identified as Sergio Maurice EDWARDS. Attempts to locate EDWARDS have been unsuccessful. The investigation continues.
Wanted:
Sergio Maurice EDWARDS, 26, of no fixed address
Described as a black male, 6’01”, 225lbs with black hair and brown eyes
Wanted for robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On December 23 at 9:26PM, officers responded to Sally Beauty Supply located at 13920 Shoppers Best Way in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. An employee reported to police that two unknown, masked men entered the business where one of the men brandished a handgun and demanded the employee open the cash register. The men then took the cash drawer before fleeing the store on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 searched for the suspects who were not located.
Suspect Descriptions:
Black male, between 23-27 years of age, 6’0”, thin build with a light complexion
Last seen wearing an orange jacket, black mask and gloves

**ARRESTS**

Abduction – On January 13 at 7:05PM, officers responded to a hotel located in the 10800 block of Balls Ford Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a report of an unknown female screaming for help. When officers arrived, they located the victim, a 25-year-old woman, and the accused, an acquaintance, in one of the hotel rooms. The investigation revealed that the victim and the accused were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim and began to shake her. When the victim attempted to call 9-1-1, the accused took her phone and blocked the door so she could not leave. The victim began to scream for help as the accused continued to assault her and a third party contacted police. During a search of the room, marijuana was located. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Darryl Wayne MIAL, was arrested.
Arrested on January 13:
Darryl Wayne MIAL, 39, of the 11600 block of Howitzer Ln in Woodbridge
Charged with abduction, assault & battery, preventing the summoning of law enforcement, and possession of marijuana
Court Date: March 8, 2018 | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond
