Police called to burglary in progress; suspects climb roof of Woodbridge home

Attempted Residential Burglary – On February 16 at 9:12PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 13200 block of Osage Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary in progress.

A resident of the home, identified as an 18-year-old male, reported to police that two acquaintances used a ladder to climb onto the roof of the home and attempted to break into a second story window in order to assault him. When a neighbor saw the suspects, they jumped off the roof onto a vehicle that was parked in the driveway, damaging it. The suspects then fled the area in a vehicle, which was quickly located by responding officers in the area of Dale Blvd and Hillendale Dr.

Officers conducted a traffic stop and detained both of the suspects. Upon searching the vehicle, marijuana was located inside. Further investigation revealed that one of the accused had been involved in a prior dispute with the victim. No entry was made into the residence. Following the investigation, both of the accused, identified as Keyshawn Eric COPELAND and Taevon JOHNSON, were arrested without incident.
