Manassas Ballet Theatre Presents ‘Romeo and Juliet’ May 19-21

You might not expect to see a Prince William County supervisor and a banking association executive in a ballet May 19-21 at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas.

They are part of Manassas Ballet Theatre’s (MBT) presentation of the full-length tragic romance of Romeo and Juliet.  With a backdrop of new, custom scenery, the dancers, in new costumes, will be accompanied by the expanded Manassas Ballet Theatre Orchestra playing the Sergei Prokofiev score.

Look for Marty Nohe,  Coles District Supervisor, who will play Lord Montague, and Rick Smith of the American Bankers Association who will play the Prince of Verona.

The production with an ensemble cast of 80, including 22 professional MBT dancers, “is a huge undertaking,” according to Amy Grant Wolfe, artistic director.

Call 888-945-2468. Opening night is Service Night. Any active duty, veteran or first responder will receive a free ticket, with accompanying tickets at a 25 percent discount.
