A bird mystery: VA officials working to discover why birds are dying in numbers

The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, DWR (formerly the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, DGIF) is coordinating testing on a selection of deceased birds after the Northern Region area of Virginia began receiving an increase in the number of calls starting May 18 about sick/injured young birds, specifically Grackles and Blue Jays.

The consistent theme among these scams has been phone fraudsters portraying themselves as a Virginia State Police sergeant and threatening the individuals into paying hundreds of dollars in gift cards to the caller, Va. State Police said.

Remains of man found in Florida traced back to murder in Prince William County

On October 25, 2020, Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single vehicle crash involving the accused in the Miami-Dade area of the state. During the investigation into the crash, troopers located Brian’s remains in the trunk area of the vehicle. Brian reportedly suffered from multiple gunshots wounds and his death was ruled a homicide by the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office.

Caution Drivers: VDOT to replace Antioch Road stormwater pipe over weekend
