PW Police and Fire & Rescue jointly investigating July 27 house fire and stabbing in Woodbridge

Malicious Wounding | House Fire – On July 27 at 4:24PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 1300 block of East Longview Dr in Woodbridge to investigate a reported stabbing. Officers arrived on scene and located the residence on fire and an adult woman suffering from stab wounds on the front lawn. Officers used their issued trauma kits to provide immediate, preliminary first aid to the victim.

The suspect, identified as the accused, was located in the driveway of the home, sitting in a vehicle where he was taken into custody without incident.

Officers on scene were initially informed of the possibility that two small children were still inside the residence which, at that point, was full of heavy smoke from the fire. Without hesitation, several officers entered the residence to search for the children. The Department of Fire and Rescue responded quickly and extinguished the fire. Officers later learned that the children were unharmed and at a neighbor’s residence.

Four officers were treated at area hospitals, three for smoke inhalation and a fourth for heat related concerns. All officers have since been released from care. The victim was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries and is expected to survive.

According to the police report, the investigation into the incident revealed the suspect returned to the residence where he then forced open the victim’s bedroom door and assaulted a male acquaintance of the victim. During the same altercation, the accused retrieved a knife and stabbed the victim, a 38-year-old woman, more than once. The victim and the accused reside in the same home but are not otherwise connected or related, according to Sgt. Jonathan Perok, police department spokesman.

The cause of the fire and details surrounding the assault are still under investigation, the police report stated. Following the preliminary investigation, the accused, identified as Noel Antonio QUINTEROS-RAMIREZ, was charged. Additional charges are pending. This incident is being jointly investigated by Prince William County Police and the Department of Fire and Rescue.
