No bond granted to suspects arrested for malicious wounding, rape and assault, county police report

**ARRESTS**

Malicious Wounding – On August 23 at 8:43PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 2700 block of Potomac Mills Cir in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic assault. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 24-year-old woman, and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. According to Off. Nathan Probus, police department spokesman, the accused grabbed the victim’s head during the encounter and began to slam it against the pavement. The accused also kicked the victim multiple times before fleeing the area as officers were arriving. A short time later, an officer located the accused walking nearby. After a brief foot pursuit, the officer detained the accused. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Detz Mancell JOHNSTON, was arrested. Minor injuries were reported.

Rape Investigation – On August 26 at 1:00AM, detectives from the Special Victim’s Unit responded to a residence located in the 15300 block of Inlet Pl in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a sexual assault. According to Off. Nathan Probus, police department spokesman, the investigation revealed that the victim, 37-year-old woman, was raped by the accused, an acquaintance, on August 25. The victim disclosed the incident to another family member who then contacted police. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

Charged with rape

Assault & Battery on Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) – On August 25 at 9:37PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to 6000 block of Ticket Way in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a disorderly person. According to Officer Nathan Probus, police department spokesman, arriving officers determined that the accused was intoxicated and detained her. As officers were attempting to place the accused into a police cruiser, she resisted and kicked an officer in the leg several times. Officers deployed pepper spray and secured the accused without further incident. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Karly Angela CRUZ, 35, of 15546 Horseshoe Ln in Woodbridge
Charged with assault & battery on a LEO, resisting arrest, and intoxicated in public
Court Date: October 17, 2018 | Bond: Held WITHOUT bond

Residential Burglary – On August 23 at 4:30PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4100 block of Cardinal Crest Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The investigation revealed that the accused, a prior tenant of the property, entered the home using a garage door opener and took several items that were being used to stage the property. A search warrant was subsequently execute at the residence of the accused. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Mariam Kamal HASSOUN, on August 24. The accused turned herself in at the Gar-Field Station in Woodbridge later that day.

Charged burglary and grand larceny
Court Date: October 23, 2018 | Bond: Released on a $5,000 unsecured bond
