Aggravated Sexual Battery *ARREST – On March 21, Eduyn Misael BELTRAN-ROMERO turned himself into police without incident at the Adult Detention Center in Manassas. The accused was wanted for a sexual assault which occurred at a residence in Dumfries in July of 2016.
Arrested on March 21:
Eduyn Misael BELTRAN-ROMERO, 43, of no fixed address
Charged with aggravated sexual battery and production of child pornography
Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond

Aggravated Sexual Battery [Previously Released] – On October 11, detectives from the Special Victims Unit began an investigation into a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence in Dumfries (22026) in July of 2016. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 14-year-old female juvenile, was inappropriately touched and photographed by the accused, an acquaintance, while she was sleeping. The incident and photographs were recently disclosed to authorities prompting an investigation into the matter. On October 18, following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused, identified as Eduyn Misael BELTRAN-ROMERO.

Attempted Bank Robbery – On March 22 at 9:41AM, officers responded to the BB&T Bank located at 13920 Noblewood Plz in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. An employee reported to police that an unknown man approached the bank area then passed a note demanding money. When the teller refused, the suspect fled the bank possibly in a vehicle. No injuries were reported. A short time later, a responding officer observed the suspect vehicle driving on Opitz Blvd near Potomac Center Blvd. Officers initiated a traffic stop and detained the driver and a passenger believed to be involved in the attempted bank robbery. The investigation continues and further information will be released when available.


Felony Child Neglect – On March 20 at 3:45AM, officers responded to a hotel located in the 16900 block of Old Stage Rd in Dumfries (22025) to check on the welfare of two small children. When officers arrived, they located a 4-year-old boy and a 1-year-old boy unattended in one of the hotel rooms. Officers conducted a canvass of the area and located the children’s mother sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot intoxicated. Further investigation revealed that the children were left unattended for more than an hour.  Child Protective Services responded and released the children into the custody of a family member. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Sherese Antoinette HARRIS, 35, of no fixed address
Charged with 2 counts of felony child neglect
Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond

Assault & Battery on a Correctional Officer – On March 22 at 12:47AM, officers responded to the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center located at 9320 Lee Ave in Manassas (20110) to investigate an assault on a corrections officer. The investigation revealed that the accused was being transferred to his cellblock when he became agitated. During the encounter, the accused struck an officer in the face. The accused was quickly detained without further incident. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was charged and remains incarcerated.

Jamarr Ladele CHANDLER, 28, of no fixed address
Charged with assault & battery on a corrections officer
