Gov. Glenn Youngkin has ordered the flags of the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Virginia be flown at half-staff April 16 in memory and respect for the 17th Anniversary of the Virginia Tech shooting which took the lives of 32 people.

A battery-operated scrubber was determined to be cause of a Dale City apartment fire last evening, April 8. The fire displaced two adults and a child, a PWC fire official said.

Together, the 242 amendments to the budget offered by the Governor he says preserve the vast majority of spending priorities as passed by the General Assembly. It increased funding for Metro, toll relief in Hampton Roads, affordable access in Higher Education, and the Housing Trust Fund, the Governor's Office said.

VDOT reports that the northbound I-95 general purpose lanes will have lane closures, weather permitting, Friday night, April 5 and Saturday night, April 6 around mile marker 155between the Dale City Truck-Only Safety Rest Area North and Cardinal Drive for Powells Creek bridge work.
