Woodbridge eatery calls for police help when patron allegedly refuses to leave

Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On May 17 at 12:08AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to TGI Fridays located at 13237 Worth Ave. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a man who was refusing to leave the business. Upon arriving at the location, officers observed the man, later identified as the accused, outside of the business. When officers attempted to make contact with the accused, he ran back inside, according to a report filed by MPO Renee Carr, public information officer.

Officers followed the accused inside where he was informed by the manager to leave the restaurant. The accused refused to leave, and when officers attempted to detain him, he
actively resisted and refused to follow officers’ commands. After a brief struggle, the accused was taken into custody without further incident. During the encounter, the accused struck the officers. While investigating, the police officers determined the accused was under the influence of suspected narcotics which were also found on his person during a search incident to arrest. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Alex Xavier BROOKS, was arrested.

Charged with 2 counts of assault & battery on LEO, 1 count of obstruction of justice, 1 count of possession of a controlled substance, and 1 count of trespassing
