Women stave off attempted car jacking with a bag and a cup of hot chocolate at Woodbridge 7-Eleven

**INCIDENTS**

Attempted Carjacking – On January 13 at 11:58PM, officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 15052 Cardinal Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an attempted carjacking. The victim, a 50-year-old woman, reported to police that she was walking back to their vehicle in the parking lot after purchasing items inside the store. Once at her car, two unknown men approached her. During the encounter, one of the men brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim struck the suspect with her bag. The victim’s daughter, a 22-year-old woman, exited the store and threw her hot chocolate towards the suspects who then fled on foot. No injuries were reported and no property was taken. A police K-9 searched for the suspects who were not located.
Suspect Descriptions:
Both men were described as black males, unknown age, approx. 5’10” with thin builds
The armed suspect was wearing a black winter coat with a black fur trimmed hood
The other suspect was wearing dark colored clothing and red gloves

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On January 13 at 3:27PM, officers responded to the Chuck E Cheese located at 14085 Shoppers Best Way in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate initial reports of a fight in progress. While officers were responding, additional reports indicated shots were fired during the incident. The investigation revealed that a fight occurred inside the establishment. The fight proceeded out to the parking lot where an involved party fired a handgun multiple times in the air. Officers located several shell casings in the parking lot. No injuries or property damage were reported. The individual who fired the weapon was not located. No description of that person was provided to police.

Attempted Strong-Armed Robbery – On January 14 at 9:55AM, officers responded to investigate an attempted robbery that was reported to have occurred in the area of Bellona Rd and Bel Air Rd in Woodbridge (22191) the night prior on January 13 at approximately 7:40PM. The victim, a 15-year-old male, reported to police that he was walking his dog in the above area when he was approached by an unknown male. During the encounter, the male asked the victim what he had in his pockets. At one point, the suspect pushed the victim to the ground and demanded the victim empty his pockets. The victim attempted to get away from the suspect who was holding him by the neck area. A struggle ensued and the victim was able to get away after he bit the suspect’s hand. The victim sustained several minor scratches and marks from the incident. No property was taken.
Suspect Description:
White, Hispanic male, between 35 & 40 years of age, 5’7”, 200lbs with a muscular build, long hair and a mole on his upper right cheek
