Transition fair March 18 to plan for life after school for students with disabilities

To assist students with disabilities and their families in planning for life after school, the Prince William/Manassas/Manassas Park Transition Council will host its annual free Transition Fair on Saturday, March 18, from noon–3:30 p.m. at the Edward L. Kelly Leadership Center, 14715 Bristow Rd., Manassas 20112. The fair is for students who receive special education services through Prince William County, Manassas City, or Manassas Park Public Schools.

The Transition Fair offers students and parents the opportunity to meet with representatives from private and public agencies that provide a variety of support services to youth and adults with disabilities who face significant changes as they complete their high school careers.

Students and parents may also attend information sessions about transition planning; Medicaid; Supplemental Security income; supported employment; Social Security; career planning; guardianship; special needs estate planning; and college disability support services.

To register for the fair, call 703-791-8354 (voice) or 703-791-8847 (TDD).
