Three young children in vehicle when driver was stopped for failure to maintain lane

Child Neglect | Driving Under the Influence – On July 11 at 11:19PM, officers from Prince William County Police Department conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Lomond Dr. and Urbanna Rd. in Manassas (20109) for a driver who was unable to maintain vehicle in lane,  reported Master Police Officer Renee Carr, public information officer for Prince William County Police Department,

Officers made contact with the driver, identified as the accused, who was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. The accused was taken into custody without incident. A woman and three children, a 5-year-old boy, a 2- year-old boy, and a 6-month-old girl, were also inside the vehicle during the incident. The other occupants were unharmed.

Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Jimmy Joseph DORAN, was arrested. While police were processing the accused, he began to actively resist and refused to follow officer’s commands. After a brief struggle, the accused was re-secured without further incident.

Jimmy Joseph DORAN, 30, of the 11600 block of Laurel Dr. in Laurel, MD
Charged with 3 counts of child neglect, 1 count of DUI, 1 count of unreasonable refusal, and 1 count of obstruction of justice
Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond
