Tee Off for Education raises $108,000+ for PWC Schools’ education foundation grants

The 25th “Tee Off for Education” Golf Classic benefit Aug. 3 raised more than $108,000 for SPARK, the Education Foundation for Prince William County Public Schools, according to a news release. The event fielded a full field of golfers and was held at the Old Hickory Golf Club in Woodbridge.

Sponsored by Moseley Architects, Ayala Electric, Cintas, and 45+ other sponsors and donors, the golf outing raised funds for the SPARK Innovative Grants Program, which may impact a single classroom, a team of teachers, one school, or the entire School Division.

Grants are awarded up to $5,000 and are reviewed monthly by a panel of educators and business leaders in the community, the news release stated. The Foundation invests in programs that directly and measurably impact student achievement.

Lillie Jessie, School Board Vice Chairman, Keith Imon, Deputy Superintendent and Dawn Davis, SPARK Board President, greeted participants and started the tournament. Dr. Steven Walts, Superintendent of Schools, congratulated and thanked all of the sponsors and participants at the banquet ceremony.
