Suspects arrested in weekend shootings

• Shooting into a Residential Dwelling –
On Sunday, January 16, 2022 at 12:53AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 16900 block of Toms River Lp. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed that the accused and multiple individuals were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated.

At one point, the accused left the residence and went to his vehicle where he retrieved a firearm from is vehicle and fired multiple shots before fleeing in his vehicle. Two of the rounds struck the home. Three women, between 27 & 57 years of age, were inside the residence at the time of the shooting. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Tad Oilanda PRUITT, who turned himself in to police later that day.

• Aggravated Malicious Wounding – On Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 1:07AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3600 block of Brockenbrough Dr. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a shooting. The victim, a 39-year-old man, reported to police, he was walking into his residence when he was shot.

The investigation revealed that another resident of the home, identified as the accused, fired a round which struck the victim. Upon arriving
at the residence, members of the Dumfries Police Department initially took the accused into custody without incident. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The weapon was recovered, and the accused was turned over to
Prince William County police. No additional injuries or property damage were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Armon Jamal ROACH, was arrested.

• Felony Hit and Run – On Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 7:09AM, officers responded to the 8300 block of Sudley Rd. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a hit and run crash. The victim, a 22-year-old woman, reported to police that while in the parking lot of the above location, a white van struck her vehicle from behind. When the victim attempted to contact the driver of the white van, later identified as the accused, he fled the area.

While investigating, officers were informed of a second crash involving the same white van, as it was leaving the above area. The investigation into the second crash revealed that while traveling on Sudley Rd. the van entered the left turn lane and struck a stationary vehicle. The force from the impact pushed the stationary vehicle into the vehicle in front of it. The van then drove over the median and continued the left turn onto Crestwood Dr.

A short time later, officers observed the white van turn onto Ashton Ave. traveling northbound in the southbound lane. The van traveled a short distance on Ashton Ave. before crossing over the median into the northbound lanes of travel. Officers then activated their emergency equipment and attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the van. The driver of the van disregarded the officers’ emergency equipment and continued to flee towards Sudley Manor Dr. where there was a red traffic signal.

The van continued driving and crashed into a stationary Toyota Prius before reversing and striking a marked police cruiser. At that time, additional officers were able to prevent the van from continuing to drive and officers took the accused into custody. Two occupants of the Prius were transported to an area hospital for minor injuries. No additional injuries were reported. The accused was transported to an area hospital for further investigation before being released to police custody. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Jonathan David MENDEZ AGUEDA, was arrested.

Charged with 2 counts of felony hit & run, 1 count of misdemeanor hit & run, 1 count of DWI, 1 count of operating an uninsured vehicle, and 1 count of improper registration

•Strangulation – On January 15 at 1:12PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 9500 block of Salem St. in Manassas (20110) to investigate a domestic. The victim, a 24- year-old woman, reported to the police that she and a family member, identified as the
accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim, while she was holding their 2-year-old son, and put his arm around her throat. Eventually, the victim was able to separate from the accused and contacted the police. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Alan Wenfri GARCIA GONZALEZ, was arrested.

• Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On January 16 at 4:30PM, officers responded to the Courtyard Marriot located at 14300 Crossing Pl. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed that the accused pushed an acquaintance, identified as a 74-year-old man, to the ground during a verbal altercation. The parties separated and the police were contacted. The acquaintance reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Dean Alexander WALDERA, was arrested. While processing the accused at the Prince William Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center, the accused kicked an officer. The accused was re-secured without further incident.
