Suspect out for 2:30 a.m. stroll arrested in connection with June 24 burglary of Dumfries business

Commercial Burglary *ARREST – On July 6 at 2:30AM, officers were proactively patrolling in the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and River Ridge Blvd in Dumfries (22026) when they located a suspicious person walking in the area. The suspect matched the description of a suspect involved in a burglary of the Cricket Wireless on River Ridge Blvd on June 24. The suspect, identified as Jonathan Thomas JOHNSON, was subsequently detained. Upon further investigation by detectives with the Property Crimes Unit, the accused was charged with the burglary. The investigation continues.
Arrested on July 6:
Jonathan Thomas JOHNSON, 30, of no fixed address
Charged with burglary, grand larceny, and possession of a schedule I or II narcotic
Court Date: August 28, 2018 | Bond: Held WITHOUT bond

Commercial Burglary [Previously Released] – On June 24 at 2:33AM, officers responded to Cricket Wireless located at 16669 River Ridge Boulevard in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an alarm activation. When officers arrived, they observed the front glass door was shattered. A police K-9 responded and cleared the business. No property was reported missing. A suspect was not located.
