Sharp-eyed employee identifies suspect in Jan. 27 gas station robbery in Lake Ridge

Armed Robbery *ARREST –
On February 4 at 3:18PM, Prince William County police officers responded to the Sunoco located at 3220 Old Bridge Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) after an employee called to report an individual, who matched the description of the suspect from a previously reported robbery, was outside of the business.

Officers responded and detained the suspect without incident. During the investigation, detectives with the Robbery Unit were able to link the suspect to the robbery that was reported on January 27 at the business. Following the investigation, the suspect, identified as Alexander Mark MCGINNIS, was arrested.

Arrested on February 4:
Alexander Mark MCGINNIS, 26, of 3249 Foothill St. in Woodbridge
Charged with robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony
Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond

Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On January 27 at 2:27PM, officers responded to the Sunoco located at 3220 Old Bridge Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. An employee reported to the police that an unknown man walked into the business and approached the counter. During the encounter, the suspect implied he was armed and demanded money. The suspect fled on foot prior to the police arriving at the business. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspect who was not located.
