Ribbon cutting for new non-traditional Independence School on Aug. 23

The public is invited to Prince William County Schools’ ribbon-cutting ceremony for Independence Nontraditional School on Thursday, Aug. 23.  The school is located at 14550 Aden Road, Manassas, at the corner of Aden and Joplin Roads.

A reception will begin at 5 p.m. followed by the ribbon-cutting at 6 p.m.

Elected officials, the school community, School Board members, and school officials are expected to attend.

This unique, state-of-the-art school combines the former New Directions and New Dominion Alternative Education Centers and PACE East, to give students greater access to courses and Division resources, a PWCS news release said.

The principal is Robert Eichorn; administrators include Amy Cole, Brandon Neal, Jodi Pankowski, and Inmar Romero.
