PWC Police Report for Monday, May 23, 2022: Inmate found deceased at Adult Detention Center

Incidents
• Death Investigation –
On Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 6:42PM, officers responded to the Prince William-Manassas Adult Detention Center (ADC) located at 9320 Lee Ave. in Manassas (20110) to investigate the death of an inmate. The investigation revealed that an inmate, identified as a 38-year-old man, was located unresponsive by ADC staff inside his cell. ADC officers and medical staff responded and provided first aid until fire and rescue personnel arrived. The inmate was pronounced dead at the ADC. The deceased was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. No foul play is suspected at this time. The investigation continues.

The deceased was identified as Wilber Heovany GARCIA BENITEZ, 38, of Dumfries

• Strong-Arm Robbery – On May 19, 2022 at 10:42PM, officers responded to investigate a robbery that was reported to have occurred at the Walgreens located at 14095 Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) on the evening of May 17. An employee of the business reported to police that at approximately 7:30PM, he observed a male patron inside the store concealing merchandise. The employee confronted the suspect near the door and attempted to grab the bag containing the unpaid merchandise. At that point, the suspect attempted to strike the employee causing the employee to fall to the ground and the merchandise to fall to the floor. Another patron intervened and separated the parties before the suspect fled the store. No injuries were reported. No property was reported missing.
Suspect Description:
A black male, approximately 5’10”, with a medium build, bald, and with a goatee
Last seen wearing a white V-neck style t-shirt, light grey sweatpants, and white high-top shoes with a red sole

• Residential Burglary – On May 21, 2022 at 2:30PM, officers responded to investigate a burglary that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 1300 block of Congress St. in Woodbridge (22191) between 12:00AM on May 16 and 12:00AM on May 21. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Jewelry was reported missing.

• Residential Burglary – On May 21, 2022 at 8:00PM, officers responded to investigate a burglary that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 4700 block of Koester Dr. in Woodbridge (22193) on May 19. The homeowner reported to police that the front door was damaged sometime between 12:00PM an 1:00PM. At this time, it is unknown if entry was made into the residence. No property was reported missing.

• Residential Burglary – On May 21, 2022 at 10:14PM, officers responded to the Riverwoods Apartments located in the 27700 block of Yosocomico Ln. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The occupant of an apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred sometime between 9:00AM on May 19 and 9:20PM on May 21. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the residence through the front door which was found damaged. Firearms and an undisclosed amount of money were reported missing.

Arrests
• Attempted Malicious Wounding –
On May 19 at 11:28PM, officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 13304 Occoquan Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted assault. The victim, a 30-year-old man, reported to police that while in the parking lot, he and the driver of a vehicle parked in the parking lot, later identified as the accused, were engaged in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the altercation, the accused retrieved a knife, got out of the vehicle, and attempted to stab the victim who ran into the store and contacted the police. The accused fled on foot prior to police arriving at the location. No injuries were reported. While investigating, the accused returned to the area where he was taken into custody without incident. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Gabriel Humberto LEMUS-GALICIA, was arrested.

Charged with attempted malicious wounding

• Indecent Exposure | Assault & Battery – On May 12, 2022 at 3:19PM, officers responded to the Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa located at 12501 Dillingham Sq. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an indecent exposure. An employee reported to police that while in a massage session with a patron, later identified as the accused, he grabbed her leg. A short time later during the session, the accused made inappropriate gestures before exposing himself to the employee. The employee covered the accused and continued the session. When the accused exposed himself a second time, the employee ended the session and left the room. No injuries were reported. During the investigation, officers identified the accused as Charles Williams LLOYD Jr., and following the investigation on May 21 he was charged.

Charged with indecent exposure and assault & battery
Court Date: June 1, 2022 | Status: Released on a Court Summons
