INCIDENTS
• Shooting into a Residential Dwelling – On June 6, 2022 at 10:04PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 17600 block of Hampstead Ridge Ct. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a destruction of property. The homeowner reported to police suspected gunfire was heard earlier that morning between 2:00AM and 2:30AM. Upon checking the home later that day, a bullet hole was located in a dining room window. The investigation revealed a round entered the home through the window and traveled through the wall into the bathroom where it struck the mirror before becoming lodged in the opposite wall. No additional shooting incidents were reported during the above timeframe. No injuries or additional property damage were reported.
• Strong-Arm Robbery – On June 6, 2022 at 11:30AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 3500 block of Eskew Ct. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. The homeowner, a 77-year-old man, reported to police he was allowing a woman, identified as the accused, to temporarily stay at the home. While residing at the residence, the accused allowed a man inside the home who had been previously trespassed. When the homeowner told both parties to leave the residence, the accused began destroying the victim’s property before pushing the victim to the ground. While the victim was on the ground, the accused struck and kicked him multiple times before taking his property. The accused and the other man then fled prior to police arriving at the residence. A police K-9 searched the area for the accused who was not located. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Shawnta Marie MASON. Attempts to locate the accused has been unsuccessful.

• Attempted Residential Burglary – On June 6, 2022 at 10:00AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Bayvue Apartments located in the 1200 block of Bayside Ave. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted burglary. A resident of the apartment reported to police that sometime between 11:30PM on June 5 and 8:45AM on June 6, entry was attempted into the apartment through the front door which was found damaged. No entry was gained into the apartment and no property was reported missing.
• Attempted Residential Burglary – On June 6, 2022 at 10:00AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to investigate an attempted burglary that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 12200 block of Vista Brook Dr. in Manassas (20112) on May 22. Surveillance footage revealed at approximately 1:30AM, an unknown man attempted to gain entry into the home through the front door which was secured. The suspect then fled from the front of the residence shortly after the homeowner’s dogs began barking. No entry was made into the home and no property damage was reported.
ARRESTS
• Assault by Mob | PWC Public School Incident – On June 3, 2022 at 12:55PM, the School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to Freedom High School located at 15201 Neabsco Mills Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) was contacted by school personnel regarding an assault between students. The investigation revealed the victim, identified as a 15-year-old male student and the accused, identified as a 17-year-old male student, were involved in an ongoing altercation in the hallway which escalated. During the encounter, the accused punched the victim before he was kicked in the head multiple times. School personnel separated the involved parties when two other students, a 15-year-old male student and another 17-year-old male student began striking the victim. School personnel eventually separated all parties. The victim initially received treatment from the school nurse before being transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries later that day. During the investigation, officers determined that all parties were known to each other. Following the investigation, officers sought petitions against the two 17-year-old male students and the 15-year-old male student. After consultation with Juvenile Court Services, the case resulted in an informal action and will be handled through the juvenile diversion process.
