PWC Crime Report: March 31, 2023 - Juvenile charged with weapon on Gainesville HS grounds

• Commercial Burglaries *CHARGES OBTAINED –
On March 28, 2023 Prince William County Police Department detectives concluded the investigation into multiple burglaries that were reported to have occurred at the Lake Montclair Center located in the 5000 block of Waterway Dr. in Dumfries (22025) on Feb. 22, 2023, During the investigation, detectives received information that ultimately led to identifying both suspects. On March 28, following the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for both suspects, identified as Kimanthi JACKSON and Terence CHAMBLISS. The JACKSON suspect is currently incarcerated in Howard County on unrelated charges. Attempts to locate the CHAMBLISS suspect have been unsuccessful.

Kimanthi J. JACKSON, 43, of the 4600 block of Foote St. in Washington DC
Charged with 3 counts of burglary and 3 counts of conspiracy to commit a felony

Terence Stefan CHAMBLISS, 37, of the 10200 block of Spring Water Pl. in Upper Marlboro, MD
Described as a black male, 5’6”, 145lbs., with black hair, brown eyes, and a tattoo on his neck
Wanted for 3 counts of burglary and 3 counts of conspiracy to commit a felony

Commercial Burglaries [Previously Released] – On February 22 at 5:11AM, officers responded to the Lake Montclair Center located in the 5000 block of Waterway Dr. in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a burglary-in-progress. As officers arrived in the shopping center, they observed a man who matched the description of the suspect, get into a vehicle and flee the parking lot at a high rate of speed. Upon checking the shopping center, officers determined entry was made into three separate businesses, the New Hunan restaurant, FO Japanese restaurant and the Dairy Queen. The investigation revealed the suspect entered the businesses by smashing the front door. The cash registers in all three businesses were tampered with. No property has been reported missing at this time. The suspect is described as a male with a slim build and wearing baggy pants who fled in a dark colored vehicle. The investigation continues.

ARRESTS
• Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds –
On March 28, 2023 at 1:00PM, the School Resource Officer assigned to Gainesville High School located at 13150 University Blvd. in Gainesville (20155) was notified that a student was in possession of weapon on school grounds. While investigating the incident, school security personnel located a student in one of the restrooms who was determined to be in possession of a knife. Further investigation revealed the student initially provided false identifying information to school personnel and the SRO. The SRO determined the knife was not displayed or part of any other active threat to other students, faculty, or staff. On March 30, following the investigation, the accused, identified as a 15-year-old male juvenile, was arrested.

The investigation revealed that Fairfax County police contacted Prince William County police after their agency received information from police in Anne Arundel County, MD regarding a citizen residing in Laurel who reported recent suspicious and concerning online postings on Instagram from an individual later identified as the accused. In the postings, vague threats of violence were made, some of which included images of a location later determined to be Park Valley Church in Haymarket.
